It was a busy Saturday in Los Angeles with the opening of Backback Boyz Long Beach dispensary, the launch of Sticker Famer Los Angeles in Inglewood, and the second anniversary celebration of Dr. Greenthumb’s in Downtown LA.
The opening of the Long Beach dispensary by the underground brand Backpack Boyz marks their second dispensary opening in just over a year.
The location is something special, and definitely worth checking out. The dispensary building is decked out with branding and art that makes the whole spot pop. A massive mural of L.A. icons covers the main side of the building. On the opposite side, a graffiti mural celebrates Long Beach. Another graffiti mural around the entrance reps the various strain names that the Backpack Boyz are known for.
People lined up all day to get a chance to check out the new dispensary. The limited edition strain Algorythm, which is a collaboration with Snoop Dog himself, dropped right at 8am. People showed up early to cop the exclusive strain.
VIPs rolled up throughout the day, let into the back parking lot by security and escorted discreetly into the building in front of the long line.
The Backpack Boyz where suppliers to the elite before going to the recreational market, so the community really showed up to support the Backpack Boyz crew.
Not far from the Backpack Boyz dispensary was Sticker Farmer‘s new Inglewood location. The famed supplier to the bay area trap scene has expanded recently throughout the state.
To celebrate the opening of his LA spot, Sticker Farmer went all out to create an event that filled the garage and parking lot in front of the newly minted shop. It was well attended by an insider crowd of Bay Area and LA influencers of the California weed scene, plus brands from around the country. You could spot Sticker Farmer himself, Gotbars510, Golden State Banana, Maqui, Zackwoods and others. YungLB, Nero, and RayBama also made an appearance. There was food, vendors, and merchandise giveaways throughout the day, with friendly vibes all around.
Over in Downtown LA, Dr. Greenthumb’s put on something like a festival of weed and music to celebrate their second year in business. In those two years, the Dr. Greenthumb’s name has only gotten bigger, with dispensaries opening throughout the state. The original DTLA location will always be special to the LA dispensary scene.
The event included 12 hours of live music and food trucks, plus appearances by Liife, Shy Glizzy, YG/4hunnid, Xzibit/Napalm, DJ Paul, Demrick, and 24 Hrs. Venders turned up by the dozens to share info about their weed, and the entire dispensary offered 25% off plus amazing freebies with a purchase. Famouski dropped their strain Freddy Krueger at the event.
It’s clear why Los Angeles is the center of weed culture in California, and it was the place to be on Saturday if you’re a weed enthusiast.
