Growing refers to the the cultivation of cannabis, primarily for the production and consumption of its infructescences (“buds” or “flowers“). Cultivation techniques for other purposes (such as hemp production) differ.

Cannabis is grown in a growing medium, either indoors, outdoors, in a greenhouse, or using mixed-light.

Grow mediums can be regular soil, perlite, coco coir, expanded clay pellets, and starter plugs.

“A grow” might refer to a batch of cannabis that is to be harvested.

A person who grows cannabis is called a grower or cultivator.
