Compound Genetics is known for their prize-winning genetics, producing seeds that brands all over the state use for their flower. This month, Compound Genetics launched their own brand of flower, allowing consumers to buy directly from the famed cultivator.
“We started with flower and this is what we’ve been doing for a long time,” said Felipe Recalde, CEO of Compound Genetics.
“We want people to smoke our version of it. We selected our favorite phenos and we’re taking a premium brand out to market,” he said.
Master grower and “Chief Executive Wizard” of Compound Genetics is Chris Lynch aka Chris Compound. For the new flower brand, Chris does the selections, the pollinations, and picks the phenos.
The flower, the San Fransisco-based brand says, is grown by various farming partners throughout Norther California.
“We’re building our network and people are joining our farm network,” Recalte said.
For the initial release, Chris and Recalde worked to choose their favorite Compound strains.
They’ve just dropped Rainbow Cheddar, Red Bullz, Jokerz 31, Mellowz 8, Grapple Pie.
It’s the first time people can buy the flower. “These phenos have never been released before,” Recalde said.
Chris said he’s very much excited to do a flower line and he hopes that people enjoy the “amazing terps, the full experience.”
Chris said that going into the direction of offering flower direct for the consumer is part of the growth of the company.
“It’s the evolution of the brand,” Chris said.
Of the strains dropping, Chris is most excited about Red Bullz. “It’s unique, one of a kind,” he said.
Another exciting strain is the Rainbow Cheddar (Zkittlez x Cheese), which is a rare cheese with candy terp profile.
Compound Genetics flower can currently be purchased at the Ice Kream dispensary in Los Angeles.
