LOS ANGELES – Last Thursday the Feathered Underdog Club, an NFT art project and community that has formed online over the past six months, met up in person at Sticker Farmer LAX for the group’s first in-person event.
Over one hundred people showed up to the event, many traveling from various parts of California as well as throughout the U.S. Club members flew in from Massachusetts, Texas, Florida, as well as from Northern California and the Inland Empire.
Many cannabis brands, both upcoming and established, could be spotted in the crowd. We saw SF Roots, GasHouse USSR, Kush Life, Golden State Banana, Zackwoods, Emperor’s Choice, and others.
The party-like atmosphere was the first time club members met face-to-face, after collaborating for months on the group’s Discord server.
Feathered Underdog Club is an NFT art project that includes a community of people learning and promoting a set of collectible NFT artworks tied to the California weed community.
“I’m so grateful to be a part of this community,” said Paul Rello, a hip-hop artist signed to New York’s PentHouse Studios who’s also an up-and-coming amateur boxer. Rello flew into the L.A. event from New York.
“The energy is real and it was inspiring to be surrounded by like minded individuals,” Rello said. “This is a project I truly believe in,” he said.
Rello and others from the group are already planning a second FUC meetup event on May 7th, this time in Long Island, NY.
Other established brands like SF Roots and Gashouse USSR flew down from the Bay Area to attend the event.
“Thanks to Sticker Farmer for building this community and bringing us all together,” Gashouse USSR said.
“Birds of a feather flock together,” he said, referring to the club’s avian theme.
The Feathered Underdog Club NFTs are available to anyone via Opeansea, and include access to the members-only group.
