On Thursday, November 30, 2023, a new holiday began. National Hashhole Day combines the celebration of 420 (weed) with the love of 710 (hash), combined to 1130 to celebrate one of California’s most recent inventions, the hashhole. National Hashhole Day kicked off in Los Angeles as a music, competition, and smoking event that drew hundreds of hashhole enthusiasts. It was attended and co-hosted by Berner, who performed. The event was conceived by Marcos Surita, whose brand CGO is known for expertly rolled hashholes. Earlier this year Surita hosted “Hashhole Island.”

11/30 celebrations are in their fourth year here in Los Angeles thanks to longtime weed celeb Adam Ill aka “the highest host.” Ill coined 11/30 as a combo of 4/20 and 7/10 about a decade ago, and has recently helped push 11/30 as the next weed holiday. This year Ill partnered with Surita for 11/30, representing the whole cannabis community coming together. It was Surita’s idea to make 11/30 Hashhole Day.

The hashhole is a luxury cannabis product that consists of a fat joint of top-tier flower with a rosin-filled center. The indulgent delicacy is sure to get you wrecked. It smokes for a long time and tastes great. Hashholes were only recently brought to the rec market, initially by Fidel’s (after a similar product, the donut, was put out by RollBMC). Today they are their own product category, and in recent years competitions like Transbay and Full Moon Sesh separate hashholes as their own category.

Los Angele’s National Hashhole Day was put on by Surita and Ill, and Berner says that he was enthusiastic to join the event once he saw what Suritas was up to. Berner told the audience that he had been at MJ Biz Con in Vegas just the day prior, but wanted to come to the Hashhole Day event in LA because it was, he said, where the culture is truly at. He hyped it as the start of a new national holiday for weed.

Numerous performers hyped the crowd all evening long, including performances by the Backpack Boyz Bullywiz and GB, and Cookie’s own Stinje. Berner performed a set unplanned and the whole place lit up.

In the end, there was a competition for best flower and best hashhole. The Prodigal Company from Sacramento took it home for best flower, and Dunkz won best hashhole for 24zkittlez x Z (Kalya).
