Hundreds gathered at GOAT Global Westwood on an August Friday night for a party that combined weed and porn.
It was the drop of the strain “Nitro Squirt,” a collaboration between the new weed brand Scum Bags and adult film star Kazumi.
Scum Bags is a new brand with some powerhouse players backing it, but they’d like to stay quiet about who they are. Suffice it to say that at only 5 months old the brand has sold out of drops nearly monthly.
Kazumi’s Nitro Squirt is simply a Lemon Cherry Gelato, but it’s all in how it’s marketed.
The branding and marketing of Scum Bags weed is based on porn stars and other sexy women. The concept has been years in the making.
Although not every Scum Bags drop is a full collab, the team went all out for Kazumi’s.
The mylar bag that the weed comes in is made to look like a small magazine. It comes inside a plastic slip cover that is blacked out, indicated adult content. After pulling out the “magazine,” which is just a front and back cover, the back cover containing the weed inside it, you open it to find some “soft” pornographic content, including a few photos, a “horny story,” and QRC codes to several videos, including one of Kazumi’s photoshoot that the packaging uses.
Kazumi said that she was approached by the team because of a mutual connection, and that although she’s not a smoker, she enjoys edibles. She was enthusiastic about the drop and the chance to engage with a crossover audience.
The huge event started with a few hours of meet and greet and Q&A time with fans and the public. The after party began at 9 and lasted the rest of the night, at times getting wild.
“Later I’m going to light my pussy on fire,” Kazumi told us at the meet and greet. Indeed, she was later on stage, breasts out, legs splayed, as a female sword-swallowing fire artist administered a flame that she held dangerously close to Kazumi’s genitals, which appeared covered only by a black panty. There was a limited edition tshirt, and other features, such as a sex toy molded after Kazumi’s genitals that was converted into a smoking device for the occasion. With the attachment of a glass bowl, the opening of the toy became a mouthpiece for smoking.
Scum Bags is already planning their next drop with an up and coming female musician.
