Recent drops and new strain releases spotted in the past week.
Terpenstein – Guava Lava
Out of the Bay area, an official fresh drop of the man Terpenstein‘s Guava Lava x Frosty Flowers rosin has been spotted in the wild. If you’re plugged in look for it.
Sourwavez strain
Sourwavez has quietly released the official Sourwavez strain and sauce. If you’re plugged in around L.A. and can check it out, lucky you. Sourwavez flower is produced with Zackwoods/Saved by the Zelle (Maqui x Zackwoods).
Got Bars – Barslatti
You can find the man himself, Gotbars510, staring right back at you from the bag on this new strain called Barslatti (Gotbars510 x Terpenstein) available at Cookies. He hypes it best: “Yeeee, that NEW NEW is on the way. That ‘BARSLATTI’ is gonna be hitting different ? ? ? Whos Ready ?.” The strain joins the recently-released Frosty Flowers collab of GotBars OG sauce by Terpenstein.
Obama Runtz
At first Obama Runtz was a joke, but Joke’s Up on this one. After a video from Allhahil.kay of the Runtz crew talking about a rumored Obama Runtz strain went viral, Yung LB and Dollas Up Nero got on it and turned a meme into reality. They’ve just dropped and official Obama Runtz strain with a sick new track called “Obomba Runtz,” which has a music video that’s blowing up right now. I guess you can’t create a strain that fast, so who knows what the strain really is–maybe the Runtz crew was already cooking up something and decided to change the name at the last minute. Bonus: those marketing geniuses have a Tik Tok contest going to promote the song.
Maqui Rosin
A fresh drop of official Maqui rosin has been spotted in the wild, following Maqui’s recent drop of the new strain Mochi x Ice Cream Cake.
Cookies – Tiramisu & Emergen-C (Minntz)
Cookies just dropped their next blue bag called Tiramisu. A mostly-indica strain with sweet cookie terps, it is said to be “created through crossing…Animal Cookies X (Bay Exclusive OG X OG Kush Breath) strains.” Cookies also dropped a new strain called Emergen-C under its Minntz brand (Cookies x Seed Junky). According to Minntz’s Instagram post, “This strain has an amazing taste and a high a that brings in the positive vibes right when you need them. One of our favorites to smoke on. Bred by @seedjunky_jbeezy and grown by @floracalfarms_.”
Squintz
The actor Chauncey Leopardi, who is most famous for his character “Squints” in the movie The Sandlot (1993), has just released a strain. It’s called Squintz. There’s enthusiasm in the community but it doesn’t appear widely available yet.
God Holly – Yahemi & Platinum Jerry
It wasn’t that long ago that God Holly released his own strain with Grandiflora, Yahemi. Working again with the famous growers, God Holly has already released a second strain, Platinum Jerry. Stickerfarmer is credited with the logo design. Both strains are sold at Cookies dispensaries.
Fuego Family Farms – Glitter Box fresh drop
Santa Cruz’s Fuego Family Farms grows “exotic, small-batch, hand-watered strains” and the Glitterbox strain is one of their best-known. They’ve announced a fresh drop coming soon, and fans are excited, with the brand posting to Instagram that “this one’s special.” Big Seff Exotics is also known to sell the Glitterbox strain.
The Puro Company – Puro Gold Edition
Known for high-end hand-rolled cannabis cigars, Los Angeles brand The Puro Company‘s owner and master roller dropped a limited edition of preroll cigars in a quantity of 100, including a super-limited edition of 25 that come in a sweet handmade box. It was launched on 6/4 in celebration of the founder’s 28th birthday. Made in collaboration with Chinojr, Dabber.dan, Tinajerogabby, and Fidelhydro, each of the 25 hand-made Gold Edition Humidors comes with a cigar filled with Fidel’s weed and a cigar cutter.
Napalm – Gun Powder
Gun Powder might be the first strain release by Napalm that is truly their own, not co-branded with anyone. Previous releases of the famously fat 7g pre-rolls that come in grenade-shaped glass jars used flower first by Wonderbrett and then by Cookies. The latest release features the strain Gun Powder and doesn’t list another brand as the supplier.
